Becky Rolland developed a love of small business through her New Orleans' family of entrepreneurs. After working at the third generation family locksmith company for 6 years, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she began her paralegal career. In 1997, she started her own business, Freelance Paralegal Services which led to her position as Executive Director of the Billerica Chamber of Commerce.
Remaining focused on small businesses, she wrote a weekly business column for the Billerica Chamber as well as feature stories on local businesses for The Billerica Minuteman and the Dracut Dispatch. She also originated and co-hosted a weekly talk show, Chamber Chatters, started a Breakfast Business Expo and founded the Silver Scribe Poetry Contest which paired an annual poetry and art contest for the elderly with business sponsors.
Furthering her dual career path as a writer and paralegal, she became Rooter-Man's Public Relations Specialist as she continued to work with the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. She was a contributor to several paralegal practice manuals and wrote legal articles for the The Paralegal Reporter and Know magazines.
A leader in the paralegal profession, Becky served as President of the New Orleans Paralegal Association for 4 years and on the Board of Directors for an additional 6 years. In 2006, she was selected as one of 15 Expert Paralegals and contributed the chapter on bankruptcy law in Carole Bruno's Book, LESSONS FROM THE TOP PARALEGAL EXPERTS.
In 2005, following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Becky left the paralegal profession to work for Pelican Publishing Company and during this time teamed with the National Writers Union to give back to her community of writers who lost all their books through The Gulf South Writers Project.
After gaining experience as an editor and writer for several national magazine publications, she started CorBec Media, LLC. It is her mission to help small businesses tell their story.
